10 Things I Hate About You

In honor of Heath Ledger, 10 Things I Hate About You is a total must-watch aside from his very wonderful portrayal of The Joker on The Dark Knight. You’d totally be swooning over his role as Patrick Verona.

Rating: ★/

Plot: Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) was paid by Joey Donner (Andrew Keegan) to ask Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) out so he could date Kat’s sister, Bianca (Larisa Oleykin). Kat fell for Patrick but Patrick didn’t return the favor. In her sadness, Kat wrote a poem about her bittersweet relationship with Patrick. Thus, the title, 10 Things I Hate About You.

I loved what Patrick did to win Kat back after hurting her feelings. Julia Stiles really nailed her role as Kat and Heath Ledger didn’t fail to be the most charming human being ever. All in all, the movie is just perfect.

50 First Dates

Another Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler team up that’d make you kilig? Why not? 50 First Dates is one of the movies I’ll watch when I feel a bit down. It has the kind of humor I look for in every romantic comedy I watch.

Rating: /

Plot: Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) falls in love with Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore), a girl who has short-term memory loss. Everyday, he tries to make Lucy fall in love with him until Lucy decided to erase him completely out of his life. So, he went off to the ocean to forget Lucy but came back anyway and married her.

The movie was nice. The Hawaiian theme of the movie really fits the season (although, I think it’s already kind of late). Plus, the movie’s soundtrack would really make you sing along. Come on, who wouldn’t sing along to The Beach Boys?

The Hollow by Jessica Verday

The Hollow is the first book of The Hollow Trilogy which talks about Abbey, a girl whose best friend died. She had a rough time dealing with her best friend’s death which led to a lot of sleepless nights and a lot of visits to the Sleepy Hollow cemetery.

She met a boy named Caspian who was perfect. They kept bumping on to each other in strange places and Abbey can’t help but fall in love with Caspian. She tried deny it at first but she gave in right away.

Something Caspian said made Abbey want to investigate on her best friend’s death. She came across her best friend’s journals. The first one was supposedly written by Abbey’s best friend but the other seemed weird to her. She couldn’t believe that her best friend would keep things from her.

Then she finds something about Caspian, the boy she fell in love with, and the caretakers of the cemetery. It was in the last few chapters that you’ll see how the story of The Headless Horseman is connected to the town and to Abbey.

It’s one of the books that literally took me off guard since I really didn’t expect it to be that amazing. Jessica Verday did pretty good in this book and I can’t wait to get my hands on The Haunted and The Hidden.

05/15 Blog Review

I was away for 2 weeks and while I was away, I gained a few more followers. Yay! Maybe I should be gone more often. Anyway, I made another “Like for a blog review” post. So here it is:

vianarifique - She’s one of the most creative artists I know. She’s thirteen and she’s really talented. I don’t know how her well since this blog is new but she seems really nice.

niquetriestowrite - She’s twelve and she’s a really good writer. Her posts are mostly text posts and I know a lot of you prefer photos but she’s good and her blog is worth checking and of course, reading.

virbivor - This girl here is Kyra, I don’t really know her but her blog seems really neat and really nice. Her posts are such an inspiration to I presume every girl out there. She’s inspiring, creative, and her blog expresses her innermost thoughts.

thatcrazzygirl - Her name is Jessica and she’s a photographer or at least I think she is. She’s a new follower so I don’t know her that much. But she posts great stuff. Her life is being documented in her blog and she seems nice.

theroitelet - She’s a bookworm so if you are one of us, bookworms, you should check her blog out. Her blog is great. ‘Nuff said.

keixiecakes - Her blog is awesome. She writes book reviews too. Yay! I am not alone. A must-follow since her blog is full of good vibes and inspiration.

kanderella - She’s one of the most amazing young writer I’ve met. Her blog is beautiful just like her and it’s such an honor to be in her daily reads. She deserves to be in everyone’s daily reads just as much as any of you do.

theapaez - She takes really good photos and she’s just fifteen. You could really get to know her with her blog and that’s a good thing. I came across her blog today but I think she’s friendly.

These blogs are really worth your time. Try to get to know them just like what I’d do. But since I’m really busy these past few weeks, I couldn’t really talk to them. It sucks. They don’t bite and I’m sure they’d love a few more followers.

Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

This book is where the magic begins. When Harry Potter defeated the most powerful dark wizard, Voldemort, was also when his very own parents died. He was forced to live with his muggle aunt until he got his letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (which is also my school).

The book was basically about how Harry Potter dealt being a wizard. He made friends and enemies as well. The longer Harry was at Hogwarts, the more information he knew about himself and his family.

Harry and his friends suspected Professor Snape for trying to steal the Philosopher’s Stone where it was said to be where they could extract an elexir of life but Professor Quirrel was the real culprit. He took off his turban and revealed Voldemort who was at the back of his head.

Both of them struggled for the stone and Harry passed out. The next thing he knew, he was at the school’s hospital where he was told that he survived because his mum gave her life for him and that the stone was now destroyed. Harry was brought back to the Dursley’s (his muggle family) for the summer holiday.

If you’ve been watching all Harry Potter movies, then you should read the books. Among the 7 books, this one’s my favorite. The way it’s written makes you feel like you’re going to Hogwarts as well.
